My name is Andrew Bowles, and I am currently a cybersecurity major and Japanese minor at Old Dominion University. I am highly motivated, self-disciplined, and comfortable working with cybersecurity infrastructure’s hardware and software components. My experience includes installing network security cameras for a local small business, being an independent eBay seller repairing electronic equipment, and obtaining a CCNA certification. In my free time, I enjoy learning more about software, such as router operating systems and Linux, by using GNS3 and VMWare. After graduation, My career goal is to fulfill a defensive cybersecurity role with the United States federal government. The agencies I am most interested in are CISA and the DOD because they would most align with my interests. Additionally, these agencies would provide me with a valuable opportunity to learn from some of the best cybersecurity professionals and use my skills to have a meaningful impact on protecting United States national security and citizens.
