Hello! My name is Andy Bowles, and I am currently a senior at Old Dominion University, majoring in Cybersecurity and minoring in Japanese. Before starting my studies at ODU, I graduated from Virginia Peninsula Community College with an associate’s degree in information systems technology. Because not all of my courses from VPCC transferred, I will be taking an extra semester at ODU and graduating in December 2025. My primary career goal is to provide defensive network security in either the financial, energy, or healthcare sectors. Specifically, I would like to work for a Japanese company or an American company that works closely with Japan, since I want to live in Japan someday. I believe that living and working in Japan will provide me with the opportunity to broaden my horizons and learn from others with a background different than mine.
