Hi I am Ashly!  I am currently 22 years old and a junior here at ODU.  This summer I obtained my Associate’s Degree in Psychology and graduated from John Tyler Community College in Richmond, VA.  I moved to Virginia Beach to continue my schooling full-time and work part-time in the retail industry.  I am set to complete my B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Marketing and graduate in 2020.

I have always been fascinated by the human mind and human interaction which led me to pursue a degree in Psychology.  When I took my first marketing class at JTCC I was fascinated by the Marketing and Advertising world.  I found that my passion for psychology fit so well with being able to express my creative side through Marketing.  Once I graduate, I plan to pursue a career that combines both my practical use of Psych and my interests in Marketing.  I also plan on eventually getting my Master’s in Marketing.

I decided to take this course purely out of my enjoyment of learning more about human interaction and social psychology seemed like the right class to do just that.  My experiences working in both the food and retail industry also drive my interests in this course.  I am very excited to learn more about social psychology and be able to apply the principles to my everyday job and psychology career.
