Hello classmates my name is Aiyanna Nash, I am 20 years old, and I am a senior here at Old Dominion University. My major is Parks Recreation and Tourism Studies with a concentration in Recreational Therapy and a minor in psychology. Within my major, I plan to help improve the functioning and quality of life of individuals with mental illnesses and disabilities. Before Covid -19 I wanted to work in the rehab center of a hospital, but now I am having trouble figuring out which setting I want to work in. As far as my minor I am studying psychology because I find the functioning of the human mind and body very interesting. Having a psychological perspective of things will also help me in my career field as a therapist. I am taking this specific course because it is a requirement of my minor and I want to broaden my knowledge on the development of behaviors from a psychological standpoint.

     Moving forward to my personal life, I am from Richmond Virginia, but am currently living in Norfolk Virginia with my wife and dog until I graduate. I have 7 siblings, 1 sister, and 6 brothers. I am a first-gen student and can’t wait until I graduate to set a new precedent in my family. I am a very busy person therefore I don’t have much free time, but when I do I enjoy traveling, enjoying the outdoors, staying active, baking, watching Netflix, and spending time with family and friends.
