Hello Everyone!
My name is A’nija Lorraine Johnson. I am 18 years old, and I was born, and raised in Charlottesville, Virginia. A place where anything is possible, although it is not very large. Growing up I always loved having pets, despite the fact in which I was allergic to them! However, I did not let that stop my plans, for my future. As I grew older I discovered that helping animals was not my only skill, or enjoyment in life. I love to help others as well. Therefore, instead of following my dreams to become a veterinarian, I decided that I wanted to become a registered nurse. This is one of the few reasons I ended up being able to call myself a Monarch.
I did not choose Old Dominion by mistake, or at random. I chose Old Dominion when I was just in the 6th grade. I had been on many college trips during this time, however, Old Dominion is the only one in which left a long lasting impression on me. I loved the size of the campus, the design of the dorms, the hospitality I received, along with the fact that they offered nursing as a major. Although, me, and countless others believed this would change it did not. Therefore, after applying, and being accepted, I accepted my crown to become a Monarch, and I have loved every moment of it thus far! Although, studying and school work have continued to be big portions of my daily routine there is much more to my lifestyle other than just school work.
In my free time I love to listen to music, however I don’t just listen. I create! I have always loved music. Music has, and will always be my number one “best friend.” It has been there through the thickest, and thinnest parts of my life. Although I love almost all genres of music I tend to favor rap music the most. This is because it tells a story, no matter how violent, or non violent it may be. So, in my free time I work on poetry and writing lyrics, for my new songs. However, I also love to draw, spend time with family, and play with my pets.
