Hi! My name is Anastazia Jackson. I am a sophomore education major with a concentration in history/social studies. I am an Afro-Latin American from NYC. Being a second-generation Honduran/Cuban American, I am at times unable to speak to my grandparents and other family members who primarily speak Spanish. This site contains my e-portfolio of my steps to gain that skill of language so I can speak to those who feel comfortable solely speaking Spanish and break the communication barrier.
Alongside wanting the ability to speak Spanish to break communication barriers, my goal is to become a secondary school history teacher. With the world always changing and becoming more beautifully blended, my classroom will be very diverse and culturally different. I want to be able to speak to my students and make them feel safe and comfortable being themselves in my classroom.
