Hello there! My name is Aleksander Muhametaj and I was born in Chesapeake Virgina. I chose ODU because it has a good dental program, and it was close to home. Some hobbies I like to do include playing soccer, playing video games, hanging out with friends, and playing billiards. I have an older brother who is 23 and I also have a golden doodle who is five and named lucy.
The major that I am pursuing towards is becoming a dental hygienist. I chose this career because its pay well and I always wanted to do something dental related.
Mid Semester Reflection
Study Habits
- What classes are you doing well in, and why? The classes I am doing well in are chemistry, chemistry lab, health professions, dance, and sociology. I am doing well in these classes because I like science class and all the other classes are just easy for me.
- What classes did you identify as needing assistance in? The one class that I need assistance with is history because the professor doesn’t really go over the notes that well.
- What changes have you made (i.e. amount of time, location, campus resources, study strategies, etc…)? The changes I have made are I am spending more time on studying history then goofing around. I spend most of my time doing homework and studying at the Perry library.
Transition to College
- What expectations did you have coming to college? The expectations I had coming into college was going to be a lot of work and the work was going to be tough.
- Have those expectations come to fruition, or not? Yes, those expectations have come to fruition.
- How? I have been doing a bunch of work and I’ve been very busy throughout the week doing homework.
- In what way is your college experience different from what you expected? The college experience is different from what I expected because I knew I would be commuting instead of living on campus.
- What has surprised you about your experiences so far this semester? The biggest surprise that I got so far from this semester is that I have been spending a lot of my time playing billiards with a bunch of people.
- If you live on campus: What has been your toughest challenge with moving away to college? Easiest challenge to overcome?
- OR If you commute to class: What is the toughest challenge with commuting to campus? Easiest challenge to overcome? The toughest challenge with commuting to campus is the driving I do everyday and how tired I became throughout the week. The easiest challenge to overcome is sleeping because I can always go to bed earlier.
Major
- Name something you have learned about your intended major that you did not know at the beginning of the semester. Something that I have learned from my major is that I needed a certificate for radiation in order to take x-rays.
- Have your feelings changed about your intended major? List some thoughts you are having. No my feelings have not changed about my major. Some of the thoughts I have been having is where should I go to volunteer, is the radiation test hard, and will I get into dental school.
- Is there another subject (major or minor) that you are interested in learning more about? At this moment in time there is no other major or minor I am interested in learning.
Connecting to Campus
- Name one problem or challenge you have encountered this semester, and which resource(s) at ODU you have/can utilize to assist with this situation. One challenge I have encountered this semester is my history class. Some resources I have used is tutors, going to the library to study, and study groups.
- Is there a friend, roommate, professor, advisor, or group in the ODU community who has helped you so far this semester? If so, how did they help you? No, there is no one that has helped me so far in the semester.
- Have you attended an interest meeting for a club? Why did you decide to get involved or not get involved? One of the clubs that I got interested in is the billiards club. The reason I got involved in this club is because I’ve been playing a lot with my friends at college.

Certified nursing assistance
community college for nursing
I asked her two out of the possible questions that were there since we were on phone. She said she joined the job because she liked to help people out and the other question, she said would do her best in any form to try and help people out.
One thing I learned from this interview is that there are people still out in the world that don’t want to just have money but want to have a job that they love and also a job that helps people out.
