Hi Everyone!

My name is Alexa Allen and I am currently in my final semester here at ODU!  I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Services.  After graduation this spring, I am planning to attend ODU’s M.S.Ed in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program to support my future endeavor of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.  My specific interests in psychology lie in child/adolescent psychology and abnormal psychology.  I hope to use these interests to pursue a career working in a pediatric mental health hospital.  I am taking this Social Psychology class to broaden my knowledge of social factors on individual behavior and functioning.  One topic I am looking forward to learning about in this class is how attitudes are formed and how they can affect behavior.  I feel that the material in this class will help me to build a foundational understanding of the impact of social aspects on behavior, and I look forward to applying it to my future professional endeavors.
