About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Kat Alombro. I’m currently a Junior here at Old Dominion University. I am an Exercise Science major and a psychology minor. I live in an apartment just off of ODU’s main Norfolk campus during the school year, but I call Yorktown, Virginia “home”. As you can see from the picture, I am on the cheerleading team and spend majority of my time cheering on the monarchs!

After graduation, I plan to attend a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. I hope to be accepted into ODU’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program so that I can keep the strong ties I have to ODU and to my home. Physical therapy has quickly become my passion, but psychology has also sparked my interest. I feel it is extremely beneficial to physical therapist to understand why people act the way they do in order to help them heal physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feel taking this course will allow me to better communicate and understand my patients in my future career. I feel it would be interesting to learn how someone’s origin or background can differ the way they act socially. Ultimately, I want to learn applicable information from this course that I can use in my future as a Physical Therapist.
