My name is Alizza Sarmiento, and I am from Virginia Beach, Virginia. I chose Old Dominion University because it’s close to home. Its proximity allows me to stay close with my family and friends. However, I am excited to meet more people and make new experiences during my years at ODU. I’m hopeful that I will get into the nursing program!

My hobbies include listening to music, writing songs, and playing instruments. I play the piano, the ukulele, and the guitar. Guitar is my favorite instrument because it can easily be picked up and be played for leisure. Although, I think that the piano can give off more emotion sometimes. A fun fact about is me that I took band for four years and played the clarinet. I had eventually quit band to take a photography class, but I will always choose music over photography any day.
