Welcome! My name is Ava McLaughlin, and I am a Cybersecurity student, developer, innovator, and general enthusiast who loves a challenge. As a freshman at Old Dominion University, I understand the meaning of hard work and recognize that learning is a life-long experience. This being said, my efforts in this field have earned recognition through several publications and awards, and I am highly confident in my skills. I specialize in malware detection, threat analysis, and strategy development.
Beginnings
I had access to technology and the internet from a very young age, which became a love for computers and problem-solving. Unfortunately, as a child, I was also very prone to internet scams and viruses. I later realized that threats like these are not always easy to recognize, even as an adult. Since then, I have dedicated my time to understanding how these systems work, preventing attacks before they occur, and helping victims recover from them.
Goals
Aside from programming and network analysis, I cherish human connections. This is why my work is client- and team-centered, ensuring the best outcomes for all involved. My goal is to help others, regardless of where my career in this field leads.
