Greetings! My name is Brianna Wagner and I am in my third year of undergrad studying psychology at Old Dominion University. While I originally come from the small town of Fluvanna County, I have found comfort in this drastic change of scenery after my move to Norfolk. I’m learning how to make the most out of my new atmosphere and picking up new hobbies. I’ve always been a fan of reading fiction and nonfiction novels, as well as hiking and going to the beach on warmer days.
Old Dominion University is not the first institution that I have attended. I’ve experienced several trials and tribulations through my educational experience. My freshman year I attended Bridgewater College, figuring out early on that I would not be spending all four years there I went on to attend my local community college. There I maintained a part-time job at Wild Wing Cafe and an internship at Albemarle Orthopedics. This taught me many lessons on working in a professional setting as well as time management skills.
As for the future, I plan on enrolling in a graduate program of psychology and gain hands-on experience through internships and shadowing experience. My future career is my reasoning for taking this course as well as how it will help me learn about others and myself. Not only that, but I have always been interested in science and modern medicine. With a degree in psychology, I get to learn through people about people, which is something I am very passionate about.
