About Me

Welcome to my Portfolio!

This portfolio is a digital collection of my work throughout the semester. Its purpose is to introduce different literary theories that can be used to comprehend texts through a particular lens.  I have selected several important theories that I feel are paramount for understanding and critiquing an intellectual text. Also, I have included two essays that focus on the usage of these theories in more of a hands-on, application applying discussion. This is a tool that I am planning on referring back to as I continue my academic career and to document my progress.

I am majoring in English with a Creative Writing emphasis.  Now, I can better understand the processes of critiquing  my own work and the work of others to help make myself a better writer and a more informed young reader. It has been interesting to see how all of these different theories play a specific part in the understanding, analyzing, and historical relevance in the text that we have covered. I had no idea that this class would be so informative  but I enjoyed learning about our critique of our own society and culture over the years.
