Hello! My name is Bernadette Murphy, and I am in my final year at ODU. In May of 2020, I will graduate with my degree in English with a concentration in Linguistics (Applied Language Studies). I will also have a minor in Spanish and a TESOL certification.

During my undergraduate career, I have been involved in a multitude of a activities and experiences. I am a part of the Monarch Marching Band as well as the ODU Basketball Band, a member of Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, a member of Cru, and an avid church goer and Children’s ministry volunteer. I also have worked as a Preschool Resource Teacher at the Goddard school and a Tutor with the ODU Athletic Department.

After graduation, I am moving back home to Richmond to begin my professional career. I am currently looking for TESOL positions. However, I am also interested in any writing/editing/publishing work. The benefits of my major and minor are incredible due to the flexibility that they provide.
