How does your major relate to cybersecurity technology?

I’m currently not signed up for a major yet, I’m not sure exactly what I want to choose or what career field I want to go towards but I think it will be somewhere within fashion marketing. Cybersecurity relates to fashion marketing because all the companies that are involved in the industry need to be on the internet to be successful and they need to work with cybersecurity experts to protect their data. The fashion industry is international and a lot of communications and aspects of the companies need to be run online, so cybersecurity is important. I think also with having a lot of customers cybersecurity is involved because when people make transactions online there’s always a chance someone could be taking their data or their money, so people have to contact support and go within the technology to stop it. Within the industry, there are also a lot of people higher up in corporations or those who make designs or have important production information who exchange important files and documents for the company through email or somewhere else on the internet and they need to make sure they aren’t being hacked and having important details being leaked. Even people who are running smaller businesses or are just starting up companies in the industry should invest in cybersecurity because they are also vulnerable to hackers and people who might want information about their store or products and employees. There were also some jobs in one of the videos that are within cybersecurity that would be useful to people in the fashion industry, like graphic design which is important when your company is trying to advertise and sell products, and also social media consultant who can warn customers about scams.
