• My name is Cameron Cannon. I am currently a Senior enrolled at Old Dominion University. My major is Health Administration (BS).

• I am an Intern with Dominion Pediatric Therapy & Associates located on 729 Thimble Shoals Blvd Ste 4c, Newport News, VA 23606.

• Dominion Physical Therapy & Associates is a leading physical therapy provider dedicated to improving patient outcomes through personalized care and innovative rehabilitation techniques and is committed to excellence in both clinical and administrative operations.

• My Intership Preceptor is Ms. Aixa Rulenz who is the HR Manager of Dominion Pediatric Therapy & Associates.

Proffesional Goals:

• The first professional goal I have for my internship experience is to learn about health policies. Health policies are very important to the safety and well-being of patients and employees in a healthcare setting. There are numerous amounts of health policies that have been written and are being written every day. Health policies constantly need to be revised and reviewed to keep up with threats to health that are evolving over time. I am excited to learn about the process of health policies and how to identify the key aspects that are vital to making them acceptable.

• The second professional goal I have for my internship experience is to learn how to cooperatively work with other workers on staff. It is important to have great chemistry that will allow employees to perform efficiently for the organization. If there is no chemistry established in workplaces, then it becomes a negative outcome for both the organization and employees. I plan to show up with the right attitude and get to know the staff and build a connection that will allow me to produce work at an excellent level.

• The third professional goal I have for my internship experience is to learn how to interact and deal with patients and customers. As a healthcare employee, a patient’s or customer’s health and experience are some of the most important values. Patients and customers should always be treated with respect and dealt with in a professional manner. It is also important that I build kind-hearted connections with patients or customers in the health field because dealing with health issues, especially personal health issues, usually requires more emotional support than other fields.
