Hi!
My name is Chandler Holeman. I am a sophomore Biomedical Science Pre-Health major at Old Dominion University with a minor in Health Equity and Social Justice. My interest in immunology is rooted in both academic preparation and real life experience in public health and the health equity gap within my community. Through my involvment in public health and advocacy focused advisory organizations my understanding that a diseases’ impact on specific communities is dependendent on multifacted variables such as socioeconomical determinants of health has deepened.
Through BIOL 302 : Introductions of Immunology I have learned foundational immunological concepts such as immune response mechanisms, pathogen interactions, B and T cell developement, and antigen classification. Information that is crucial to understanding disease progression in real world applications. As an aspiring medical professional, I aim to utilize this knowledge to better serve diverse populations and address the health equity gap in healthcare.
