Hello! My name is Olivia Cheskey, and I am a sophomore at Old Dominion University. I am currently majoring in Park, Recreation, and Tourism Studies with a concentration in Recreational Therapy and a minor in Psychology. Recently, I have been deciding if I would like to go to graduate school for Library and Information studies. I have always enjoyed reading, helping people, and working with children, so I thought combining Recreational Therapy with Library Studies would be a career path I would enjoy. I am taking Social Psychology because I am interested in finding out how people interact with each other and why people may act the way that they do in certain scenarios. I have always worked with the public, and I plan to continue working with the public. This course seems like it would help me understand people better which will enhance my interpersonal skills in the workplace. Another area of psychology that interests me is child psychology. I find the variety of influences on children’s behavior to be fascinating, and I would like to work with children. Learning about child psychology would certainly help me in that area.
