This is a bit about me. A little bit about me is i’m a freshman at old dominion university and i’m in person. Im from a small town called Ridgeway, Virginia. It’s about 4 to 5 hours away. During my free time i enjoy going out and having fun, working out, watching tv, and listening music. I first got introduced to cybersecurity when i was a freshman in high school . I ended up taking some cybersecurity class my junior and senior year but they were very basic. I love working with computers and doing things with technology.

Discussion Board: The NIST Cybersecurity Framework
A benefit they can gain from using this framework is its a cost effective approach to manage cyber risks. I also believe a benefit they get are the security controls that you could set up with NIST that would align with the company’s risk tolerance. I would use it to guide and implement cybersecurity practices at my future workplace if thats to me or to others i’m working with at my job. I like the guidance NIST has that you can use to help your business or organization
Discussion Board: Ethical Considerations of CRISPR Gene Editing
CRISPR Gene Editing is a technology that allows scientist to make changes to the Dna of an organism. This is very good and very bad potentially. Im going to talk about all the bad and some ethical considerations. The first ethical consideration I believe is making sure people actually understand what they’re doing. I believe they need to make sure people are fully aware of what gene editing is and the potential short term and long term effects that could happen before they allow you to gene edit on them. I also believe another ethical consideration is making sure gene editing doesn’t get into the wrong hands. This is a very revolutionary idea and thing and in the wrong hands it could be very dangerous. A person could literally change the dna on an organisms for the bad. No telling what could happen so gene editing can’t get into the wrong hands that a ethical consideration. Another ethical consideration is that anything could possibly go wrong in this process. Gene editing isn’t advanced enough yet i believe to work on humans. I feel like something could go wrong and we’re talking about someone’s genes. Someone could possibly die if something were to go to wrong possibly.
DISCUSSION BOARD: Protecting Availability
The first thing I would implement is monitoring and alerting systems so that we could keep an eye on potential issues that could potentially impact the company. I would also implement a system of plan that would make sure we are secure in case of anything happening like natural disasters or cyber attacks. I would also make sure we have all the hardware and that are systems security is the best you can get so everything is safe and that it’s almost impossible to get in the systems.
