Hello!
My name is Cora Wilson, and I am passionate about cybersecurity and the technology sector. I recently
graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree from Laurel Ridge Community College, where I also earned
a Cybersecurity Specialist certification. During my time at Laurel Ridge, I consistently maintained high academic
standing, earning a place on both the President’s List and Dean’s List for two consecutive years.
Currently, I am furthering my education by pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Cybersecurity at Old
Dominion University. The transition to Old Dominion has allowed me to broaden my understanding of the
cybersecurity landscape and deepen my technical knowledge, all while studying remotely. This flexibility has enabled me to manage my studies alongside self-improvement initiatives, which have played an important role in both my personal and professional development.
In addition to my academic achievements, I have two years of practical experience as an IT Specialist Intern, along with a recently completed cybersecurity internship at Envision Holdings Group LLC, where I worked as an IT/Cybersecurity Intern supporting help desk operations, security documentation, asset management, and information security initiatives. Across these experiences, I have applied theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, working closely with IT professionals and developing essential skills in troubleshooting, systems maintenance, network security, and customer support. This hands-on experience has given me exposure to nearly every aspect of IT infrastructure and further fueled my passion for the cybersecurity field.
I am proud to share that my work at Envision Holdings Group led to a job offer to continue with the company beyond my internship, and I am excited to begin this next chapter of my career while completing the remainder of my degree at Old Dominion. My goal is to keep leveraging my skills, certifications, and work experience within a dynamic team that fosters growth and enables me to contribute to meaningful projects. I am particularly interested in continuing to grow within cybersecurity frameworks and IT infrastructure management, refining my expertise in protecting digital assets and ensuring data security.
As I step into this next chapter, I remain eager to keep growing, learning, and taking on new challenges, leveraging my academic knowledge, practical experience, and passion for the tech industry to bring value to my team while continuing to advance my professional development in the rapidly evolving world of cybersecurity.
