About Me

I’m Mathieu Crosby, a freshman with junior credits at Old Dominion University. Balancing academics and a vibrant social life is what I do best. When I’m not going head-first into textbooks, I’m exploring virtual worlds through video games. There’s something about the strategy and immersive experience that I love to explore. But my favorite hobby is spending quality time with friends. Whether it’s gaming with them or just hanging out, those moments mean the world to me. Family is also everything. I cherish every moment spent with my loved ones. Their support and influence have shaped my values and aspirations. I see a bright future ahead, one that starts with pursuing higher education. College is on the horizon, and I’m determined to make the most of it. My ambition is not just about personal success, I’m driven to build a future where I can provide for my family comfortably. That’s why I’m aiming high; I want a career that not only fulfills my dreams but also ensures a secure life for my family.

While criminology isn’t my chosen career path, I thoroughly enjoyed the class. It gave me a deeper understanding of criminal behavior and how it connects to larger societal issues, which I found especially relevant to my primary field of interest: cybersecurity. Learning about criminology has helped me better appreciate the complexities of crime, including the growing challenges of it, and how these concepts can apply to my future in protecting against digital threats.
