My name is Ismael Garcia, and I am a cybersecurity student at Old Dominion University. I am interested in cybersecurity and, more specifically, cyber risk management. Through my coursework, I am developing an understanding of how organizations identify, manage, and reduce cybersecurity risks.

Throughout the Cybersecurity Program, I am learning about topics such as the CIA Triad, authentication and authorization, cybersecurity policies, risk management, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. These topics are helping me understand how cybersecurity affects both technology and the organizations that depend on it.

My goal is to build a career in cybersecurity risk management. I want to use the knowledge and skills I develop in college to help organizations protect their information, systems, and users from cybersecurity threats. I plan to continue building my technical and professional skills throughout my time at Old Dominion University.
