Hello! My name is Jayla and I am a freshman at Old Dominion University. I have always had a passion for science and as I grew older it manifested into a love for psychology. Beginning with majoring in psychology, I hope to become a child psychologist in the future. I would like to work in an intercity school in order to be more accessible to children who may not have the financial resources to access quality mental health care. As I grow in my field I would like to return to school and earn a PhD and soon after open my own practice.
I am taking this social psychology course to solidify my interests in human behavior and to facilitate achieving my goals. I am often intrigued by actions and decisions performed by others and I am eager to learn the science that explains why. Because I am interested in clinical psychology, social psychology seems to be key in understanding that field. Overall, this course appears to be a great stepping stone for me to continue exploring the field of psychology I am interested in and I am excited to learn more.
