Danielle Appiah Kubi is currently a sophomore at Old Dominion University studying music education. She began her musical interests in elementary school, and has participated in various choirs throughout her life. She has participated in All-County and All-District choirs. She was a member of her high school’s Acapella Club and Music Honor Society. Currently she is involved in her school’s large vocal ensemble, ODU Concert Choir. She belongs to the voice studio of Professor Adriane Kerr, and studys piano with Professor Sally Copeland. Her goal is to receive a B.A. in Music Education-Voice. After that, she would like to take her skills to the west coast and teach elementary students.
She is the daughter of two Ghanaian immigrants, so she takes pride in her African culture and heritage. Her home is in Northern Virginia, but she currently resides in Norfolk, Virginia for school. She has two siblings, her older sister Debbie, and her younger sister Daisy. She has a huge, loving extended family that she loves spending time with. Danielle values music, family/loved ones, and faith. She has a love for life, and believes it’s important to take care of yourself and others. When she is not in school, she is reading, playing piano, and working alongside her mother at Costco.
