Hi everyone! My name is Sarah de Mello and I’m currently a senior at Old Dominion University double majoring in Psychology and Sociology, with minors in Human Services and Health and Wellness. I’m taking this course because it meets a major requirement but more so because I’m interested in the influence that each diverse culture may have on people and why. Some goals that I have right now include getting good grades this semester, figuring out what I want to get my masters in, and determining what I want to do for my career. A step in the right direction would be figuring out if I want to become a counselor, and if so what type of population I would like to work with. I’m a very indecisive person so it’s been a bit of a struggle to say in the least! Whatever I end up doing, I know that it will involve helping people which I have loved doing my whole life. I look forward to learning the course material and further developing myself when it comes to understanding more about diverse individuals and cultures.
