About Me

Hello everybody!
My name is Hoang Do, and I am finally closing out my Junior Year.  I’m sure many of you have thought about what you want to do and flipped flopped back and forth from one degree to the other.  I know because I am an expert and that was me until I decided to reach out to Professor Harrell.  She has helped me out tremendously with a decision on where I should land my feet.  You see, I have over 100 plus college credits with classes ranging from business, IT, psychology to finally deciding on becoming a communications major.  I have two dogs and live on this side of the bridge. Because of the traffic, I am not in favor of traveling towards Norfolk unless I need to.  I’ve been in the National Guard for 12 years now, and for the past 3 years, I have had the privilege to speak with hundreds of high school students and graduates by guiding and providing them with a path that can best suit their needs once they graduate.  I’m able to say that I had the opportunity to make a positive impact on 37 different lives by helping them with their enlistment in the Virginia Army National Guard.  With that said, I’m here to increase my experience and overall knowledge for a better understanding of every individual I come across.  Honestly, psychology has been a favorite of mine (more specifically, child psychology); however, the lack of credits in that field of studies didn’t align with my graduating timeline.  When I saw that this course was available, I jumped right on it.  Plus, I’m excited and look forward to becoming the first person in my family to complete college with hopes to graduate “summa”.  I believe that if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish just about anything.  Finally, last year (2021) I completed 3 half-marathons, with my first ever in April 2021.
