Hi I’m Jamie.

I currently work at one of the community colleges in Virginia. For the last six years, I have been the program specialist for the College Success Program. The College Success Program helps students with any need or problem they may run into during their time at the enrolled college. Our goal is to help them be successful. 

In the spring of 2018 while working with our newly established baseball team, I determined that they were who I wanted to work with. I was literally standing on a baseball field, watching a game when it hit me that working with them is what I love and wanted to do. So I decided to re-enroll in school to complete my Bachelor’s in Psychology.

Eventually, I would like to get my Master’s in Counselor Education with a concentration in college student development and counseling.  My ultimate goal is to work with college students (ideally Student Athletes) as an academic or college success coach.

I chose Psychology as my major because the way the brain works and how people behave have always interested me. My reason for taking this course is because I believe that it will help bring me opportunities in both my professional and personal lives.
