About Me

My name is David Kyle, and I am a driven, first-generation student with a strong foundation in leadership, community service, and cybersecurity, aiming to translate my technical and analytical skills into a career in cybersecurity while continuing to foster creativity and problem-solving in every aspect of my life.

Over the past four years at South County High School, I have cultivated a diverse skill set that combines technical knowledge, leadership, and service. Through the Cybersecurity Program, I have gained hands-on experience in areas such as network security, digital ethics, threat analysis, and data protection. This course has not only taught me the importance of safeguarding information but has also sharpened my critical thinking and collaborative skills—qualities I’ve applied across other academic and extracurricular endeavors.

Beyond cybersecurity, my leadership roles in Kiwanis Key Club and as a Stallion School Ambassador have reinforced my commitment to service and mentorship. Planning inclusive events, such as the Valentine’s Day Dance with Best Buddies International and community drives for Bethany House, has taught me project management, teamwork, and empathy—skills that are directly transferable to professional environments, including cybersecurity operations where collaboration and ethical responsibility are essential.

My involvement in DECA and the Black Student Alliance has strengthened my analytical, creative, and organizational abilities, preparing me to approach problems from multiple perspectives—a mindset that complements the methodical and strategic thinking required in cybersecurity. Additionally, my long-term participation in Alfred Street Baptist Church Choir has reinforced discipline, collaboration, and attention to detail, which are valuable traits when navigating complex digital systems.

Looking forward, I plan to continue my education at Old Dominion University, focusing on cybersecurity, and ultimately pursue a career protecting information systems while contributing positively to society. My experiences in technology, leadership, and creative endeavors have equipped me with a unique perspective: I approach challenges analytically but with empathy, curiosity, and persistence, ensuring that my work has both technical precision and meaningful impact.
