Hello! Welcome to my e-Portfolio, where you can find a comprehensive overview of my educational accomplishments during my time as a graduate student at Old Dominion University. While the main focus of this e-Portfolio is to highlight the skills and knowledge I have gained from pursuing a Master’s in Public Health, you will also find some of my professional accomplishments that led me to where I am today.

I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science with a concentration in Medical Laboratory Science from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2019. Immediately following my graduation, I was hired at Reading Hospital-Tower Health as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, where I completed my clinical education as a part of my Bachelor’s degree. I love the fast-paced environment of being intricately involved in the patient care team. My work has been driven by the diagnosis and monitoring of disease or maintaining the wellbeing of patients in my local community.

After completing my first year of employment, it became clear that I was not done my educational journey and wanted to pursue a higher degree. My work had shown me the vast unhealthy patient population that surrounded my area. This led me to the realization of the depths of unhealthy social norms present, contributing to the deterioration of American’s health. I have always been passionate about creating healthy habits and preventing disease.

I began searching for online MPH programs and would ultimately apply to and accept my invitation to pursue my degree from Old Dominion University starting in Fall 2020. As I am nearing the end of the program, I am excited for the doors of opportunity in front of me. My public health education coupled with my background in Medical Laboratory Science creates a unique skill set that I hope to utilize to create a healthier, happier population in our surrounding communities.
