Emma Elrod

I am born and raised from Goochland, Virginia. I chose Old Dominion University because one of my mentors who was a former graduate with a degree in Athletic Training, claimed that it was an excellent school for my intended major, Exercise Science. Along with the acceptance letter, I was also awarded the Crown Scholarship.

I am a veteran of the Monarch Color Guard, and my favorite show has to be “British Rock Invasion,” which played “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Pinball Wizard,” and “Paint it Black.”  I was part of the color guard when I went to Goochland High School, and for my senior year we performed “Little Shop of Horrors,” which I performed a solo where I acted as the character Audrey. Besides spinning and tossing flag, I was also on the dance team, and performed at recitals, pep rallies, and even competitions. Before, I studied dance for 10 years at West End Academy of Dance, and I plan to continue pursuing my passion in college as a minor.

In my free time, I love practicing physical wellness by participating in yoga, and weight training. I also volunteer as an NREMT with Goochland County Fire-Rescue.
