Hello!  My name is Edward Ferneyhough, and I am Psychology Major at ODU.  I am in the pursuit of my bachelor’s degree.  I hope to pursue my PhD. Or PsyD. in Clinical Psychology after obtaining my bachelor’s degree.  I have always been someone that has felt compelled to help those that may be struggling or having a hard time with things that are going on in their life, and I feel that this field would be the way in which I could help the most.  Social Psychology seemed fascinating and like it would offer some great perspective on methods or techniques that would be beneficial in the field of Clinical Psychology.  Another area in the same vein as this that is of interest to me is the field of Addiction Prevention and Treatment. 

Outside of my academic pursuits, my wife and I are expecting our first child in October of 2021.  I am hoping that the insight gained from this course, along with the others I have taken, will be of great use in the coming years as my wife and I journey into parenthood.
