My name is Fiona Waldon. I am a senior at Old Dominion University, seeking a B.S. in Public Health. Starting on July 9th, 2026, I will be attending Virginia Beach EMS academy in order to fulfill my internship.

VB EMS is headquartered at 4160 Virginia Beach Blvd, which is also where I will be attending academy and logging the majority of my internship hours.
Brief History and Mission of VBEMS
VB EMS, founded in the 1950s, is the country’s largest volunteer based EMS system. Their mission statement is as follows: “To preserve life, improve health, and promote safety.”
Internship Preceptor
Captain Tyler Retel is my preceptor. He is currently the captain and program director of VB EMS. He has over 14 years of experience in the public safety field.
