Hello, my name is Genevieve Rodrigues, and I am a cybersecurity student with a professional background in information technology. I currently work full time as an IT Support Specialist and previously served in the United States Marine Corps as a Data Systems Administrator, where I supported secure systems and mission-critical operations.
My experience in the Marine Corps sparked my interest in cybersecurity, as system availability, data integrity, and security were essential in high-stakes environments. That foundation, combined with my current IT role, has reinforced how even small technical issues or misconfigurations can create significant security risks in real-world environments.
This ePortfolio documents my academic journey through the Cybersecurity Program and highlights how my coursework connects to my professional experience. Through my studies, I am building a strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, industry frameworks, legal and ethical considerations, and applied security concepts.
Cybersecurity is important to me because it combines technology, responsibility, and trust. My goal is to continue developing my technical and analytical skills in order to pursue a long-term career in cybersecurity and contribute to secure and resilient systems.
