Hello there, I am a psychology major and I minor in human services. I have interest in many different areas of counseling and therapy but what I know for sure is, I want to be a helper. I am striving to become a mental health therapist who is able to connect and provide peace for anyone who seeks my assistance. I have always wanted to be a psychology major. I am a deeply empathic person and feel the need to be there for others. I enjoy learning how the mind works as well as how we are constantly being impacted by the world around us. As someone who has faced many challenges throughout life, I feel that every person deserves someone to help them overcome these challenges. I want to be that person. While in undergrad I would like to learn as much as possible about the field of psychology and gain experience working with different clients through volunteer work. Minoring in human services was one of the best decisions I have made as a psych major. The courses emphasize the importance of cultural competence, healthy communication, and advocacy. I took this course to understand the complexity of individuals across different cultures and how different environments and lifestyles impact a person’s development.
