About Me

My name is Gretchen Gregor and I am a senior here at Old Dominion University.  I am a Human Services and Counseling major with a minor in Psychology.  Originally, Psychology was my major. I loved the field, but the further into the program I got the more I realized that it wasn’t quite my home.  From there I found Human Services and it has allowed me to feel at home while still offering me the opportunity to be involved with Psychology and other related topics that interest me.

My current goal is graduating in May 2018.  Upon graduation, I will be attending graduate school somewhere and majoring in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling. My passion is helping people, especially kids. I wish to combine the two with my future career goals to work with children and their families. Play Therapy is currently an area of study that I have found to be extremely fascinating. Although Play Therapy is what interests me the most currently, many different avenues of the field interest me. I cannot wait to experience and learn as I continue down my academic and career journey.

I decided to take Cross-Cultural Psychology in an effort to not only enhance my cultural competency, but to also go down a different path within the Psychology field.  My main focus in both Human Services and Psychology are children and families. Although, my hope is that Cross-Cultural will teach me an abundance of new information, but also expose me to different aspects of Psychology.
