Welcome to my ePortfolio! As you explore my information, you’ll see my deep commitment to lifelong learning. Teaching is a natural extension of my love for learning, and I can’t help but share any new knowledge I acquire!
I began my career in dental hygiene, working in clinical practice with excitement and eagerness to help others and use my skills to improve my patients’ oral health. Six years into my career, I started as a part-time clinical instructor at Pennsylvania College of Technology, where I discovered my passion for clinical teaching.
In September 2020, I took on the role of Clinical Director of Dental Hygiene at Penn College. It’s a joy to work with students, sharing my knowledge and passion for dental hygiene. My relationship with my students is reciprocal—they often inspire me!
Currently, I’m enrolled at Old Dominion University, working on my Master’s in Dental Hygiene with a concentration in education. My career goals include becoming a dental hygiene faculty member, teaching didactic courses, and eventually moving into a role such as dean of curriculum and instruction. My research interests focus on teaching methodologies for hands-on learning and application, addressing career and physical burnout in dental hygiene clinicians, and expanding the dental hygiene profession.
