About Me

Welcome to my ePortfolio page as a student of PSYC 304 at Old Dominion University within the Department of Psychology!

My name is Erin Hough. This is my first semester at ODU, in which I am pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Prior to attending this college, I studied at Tidewater Community College and received an Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences. When I graduated with honors from Nansemond River Highschool in 2018, my ceremony was held at ODU’s Ted Constant Center in Norfolk, VA. It was inevitable that my academic path would eventually lead back to Old Dominion!

At this time in my life, I haven’t yet decided on the career path I aim to take, though my interests vary from forensic psychology to childhood and adolescent counseling. During my time as a student, my goal is to explore the multitude of facets in the psychological field to expand my knowledge and identify the most suitable path. In the end, my desire is to have a career that helps others and creates a positive impact in my community.

With each psychology course I have taken, I’ve walked away at the end of each semester enlightened with a greater understanding of myself and of those I will encounter in every aspect of my life. My interest in taking PSYC 304 follows the same principle: I know that the lessons this course offers will expand that knowledge and improve my character as a whole, rather than simply fulfilling a requirement for a transcript.
