My name is Jahmeel C., and welcome to my page. I’m from Chester, VA, I am a senior ’26 and I’m currently working toward my Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity at Old Dominion University. Before coming to ODU I earned my Associate of Science in Information Technology from Brightpoint College, which really helped me get comfortable with the technical side of things and figure out what direction I wanted to go in.

My interest in cybersecurity started with my brother. He was the first person who really showed me what goes on behind the scenes in tech and how important it is to protect systems. Seeing him work made me want to learn more and that’s what pushed me toward cybersecurity as a career. It felt like something I could grow with and actually enjoy doing long-term.

Since then, I’ve built experience in system diagnostics, Microsoft 365 and Group Policy management. I like understanding how everything connects, how things can break and more importantly how to secure them. Cybersecurity keeps me challenged, and that’s something I appreciate.

I’m excited to keep improving my skills, take on new opportunities and see where this field takes me.
