John A. White (He/Him/His)

Good day everyone, Thanks for visiting my site here is a little background and where I currently am with my journey.

I have served in the Navy for ten years as a Hospital Corpsman and gained a wealth of experience and knowledge. I was a Second-Class Petty Officer and have the responsibility of guiding and training 24 Sailors at the Navy’s largest occupational health clinic. We provide care to Active duty but also civilian shipyard employees. Working at the shipyard has made me more ambitious to become a Naval Environmental Health Officer because I want to make sure workplaces are safe, hygienic, and healthy for everyone.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science. During which I was working full-time and co-founding Stonewall Sports Norfolk. It is a local non-profit organization for the LGBT+ community that raised over $50,000 in the past year for our local charities. During school, it even made me more excited because I knew I was taking a proactive approach to fulfil my ambition in the form of completing various environmental health classes.

I am now pursuing my current goal, a Master of Public Health-Global Environment Health, at Old Dominion University. My goal is to inspire everyone with healthcare ideas by providing health awareness in campaigns, research, and educational programs that promote the feeling of accountability for better health.

Upon graduation, I will be a Naval Officer-Environmental Health Officer, I am ready to lead by example, take on more responsibilities, and guide and mentor junior sailors.
