About Me

Hello, my name is Jonathan Donnelly. I am originally from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area and came to Virginia in 2009 after enlisting into the U.S. Navy. I served a total of seven years active duty as a Mass Communication Specialist onboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 and at U.S. Fleet Forces Command, both here in Virginia.

I am married to my beautiful wife, Amber and we have three adorable girls; Marlei (4), Naomi (3), and Penelope (3). I left the Navy two years ago to pursue formal education and to raise my girls as a stay-at-home father.

I plan to finish with a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a concentration in Professional Communication by December of next year. From there I hope to send the kiddos off to school well-prepared and reenter the workforce. Furthermore, I am taking this class with hopes that it will help better prepare me in understanding human psychology, interaction, and behavior, all while relating it to the communication field.

As a gifted graphic design, multimedia, and communication professional, I genuinely believe in the raw power of engaging with others through profound content and aesthetic designs. My professional experience as a mass communication specialist focused on creating and delivering messages to an international audience through various platforms. Although mass communication is critical for global organizations, I am deeply intrigued with how visual design and social media can impact people at an intimate level. I value the importance of establishing honest communication that focuses on connecting with target audiences and building lasting relationships. Using art as a means of interaction proves that we are all creative, whether we deliver or receive it.

I love creating, designing, and engaging in the talent, I have been blessed with. I do so with joy, purpose, and with the hope that it is for the greater good. I also enjoy attending church, music, physical fitness, traveling, and spending time with my loved ones. I dream of traveling to the Holy Land, Hawaii, Ireland, and Devon, England.
