Hello! My name is Jon Kline.

I am an IT Systems Engineer with 17 years of experience. I got my start in the IT field when I enlisted as an Information Systems Technician in the US Navy in 2007. I was Honorably Discharged in 2012, and began working at Eastern Virginia Medical School. I was an EVMS employee for 12 years until the school merged with ODU in 2024, where I have been employed since.

My primary responsibilities include completing vulnerability assessments and remediating any issues found. As one of the primary Microsoft Exchange administrators, I am also responsible for email security. I am involved in the Unified Communications and Information Security teams at ODU, and collaborate on the IT integration efforts between EVMS and ODU. Cybersecurity is my primary focus and interest, so I have returned to school to complete my Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity to enhance my skills and open more doors for career advancement.
