About Me
My name is Joseph Peckl and I am a freshman at Old Dominion University. I am originally from the northern part of Virginia, having had lived in Alexandria my whole life. I decided on coming to ODU for a couple of reasons: the campus was beautiful, the people seemed very nice, and ultimately it felt like it had pretty good vibes. Currently at ODU I am enrolled in University 150 Writing. I am fairly certain that it is the lowest available writing class. I am not that surprised though since English has never been my forte. This website that I have created contains journal entries, essays, performance reviews, and reflections. Essentially it is a recording of the work that I have accomplished this year and an expression of the progress that I have made. A lot of the reflections and basically all of the performance reviews, are entries about how well I am doing in the class and whether my writing and grammar have improved or not. On the flip side of that, many of the essays and journals are more focused on my personal opinion on a situation or recounting something from earlier in my life and figuring out how to eloquently articulate those ideas onto paper. Of course, some of the papers will be responses to specific questions that were looking for specific answers. For the most part though, most of the prompts that my class has been asked to answer, provide the space for me and everyone else to each explain our own unique views. Ultimately, while the essays and reflections are different in terms of their content and the way that they are presented, their main purpose is all the same and that is to help me to fully express myself in a grammatically correct and smooth way. In the end, it is my wish that this website will show the progression of my writing ability, and will also give an insight into my life and who I am.
