Hi! My Name is Kate-Lynn Cipolla and I am a senior at Old Dominion University. I will be graduating in May with a bachelor’s degree in Leadership. I was born in Rhode Island, moved to Florida, then moved to Virginia when I was 3 years old due to my dad being in the military. I have lived in Virginia Beach ever since and I am very fortunate to be able to stay in one place so long. I have two older brothers, which makes me the youngest in my immediate family. Although being the smallest did not hold me back, my parents knew from a young age I would be a strong leader. They instilled in me to lead with empathy and the way you speak to people matters.

Why Leadership?

I chose Leadership as my major after being promoted to a supervisor role at a local summer camp. I enjoyed being in a position where I was able to make change and be in charge. I wanted to learn more about leadership, so I could be the best version of myself for those around me.
