My name is Kelly Rupe and I am a senior at Old Dominion University. I will graduate in May 2024 with my Health Services Administration bachelors and minor in Management. With four years of management experience, I have and will continue to use my education to further me in my career.
I am an intern at Medical Associates of Southwest Virginia under the supervision on Amber Delph. Amber has been at Medical Associates since July of 2000 and in her management role for over thirteen years. Amber started as a receptionist and has slowly progressed into her current title as practice manager. Doing this, she has developed many skills that she has now taken over for other positions as well. She is tasked with ensuring nurses and provider packets are filled all knowledge including care gaps each day, billing information is specific enough but not up-coded, renovations are completed in a timely and cost effective manner, patient and provider concerns are addressed in a timely manner over email and phones, drug representative meetings are scheduled and completed, professional credentials are up to date at all times, pay roll is completed bi weekly, bills and bank accounts are paid, adjusted, and double checked, and that each day is as seamless as possible for the quality of care to be exceptional for each person who enters the office.
Medical Associates is a private primary care practice funded by Dr. Gregory C. Beato and Dr. Maggie C. Belton. The doctors work equally to ensure the practice sticks to it’s foundational stride to promote wellness and the importance of primary care to those in the Blacksburg, Virginia area. While they do not have a specific mission, all medical professionals are striving to create a better, healthier community one patient at a time.
