A LITTLE ABOUT ME:

Hi, my name is Kelvin Quaye and I’m a first generation college student.

Being a first generation college student sometimes holds a big burden on you due to everyone seeking high expectations from you. Growing up, not everyone in my family shared the dream of going to college and pursuing a field in academic studies. Truth be told, I was one of them. Being a kid is one of the best thing one could be blessed with why because the thought of what your life’s going to be in the future never crosses your mind or the word responsibility is not something that could found in your dictionary at that point of your life.

As I go through the transition from childhood to adulthood, I realize how much of a responsibility I have on my back and one of this is what led to my decision of going to college. Technology has been on the rise lately. Technology back then can’t be put in the same rank with technology now. Being classified as an upcoming younger generation and with the continuous rise of technology, I taught why not engage myself in such a field to get a much better understanding of it as we gradually migrate from the world we live in to a much more technology related surrounding. This is one of the main reasons which led to my  decision of being a Cyber security major at Old Dominion University.

So far, I’m loving the experience and aim to learn more as I transition through higher levels of Cyber security knowledge and trainings.
