A Personal Introduction
My name is Kevin McKenna. I was raised in Mooresville, North Carolina and joined the United States Navy in 2013 at the age of eighteen. I served for nine years as an Operations Specialist, initially stationed in Yokosuka, Japan aboard the USS George Washington, and later at Tactical Training Group Atlantic in Virginia Beach, Virginia. During my service, I worked extensively with naval radar systems, becoming a subject matter expert on Global Command and Control Systems (GCCS-M) and assisting in “wargame” simulations.
Following my separation from the Navy in 2022, I enrolled at Old Dominion University as a sophomore in the Cybersecurity program, supported by my prior completion of an Associate’s Degree in General Studies. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with the goal of entering the cybersecurity field, specifically with an interest in cybercrime.
