My name is Avery Keys and I am a sophomore at Old Dominion University. I am originally from Dillsburg Pennsylvania, but I came down to Norfolk because my parents went to ODU. I also wanted to live in a more diverse area so that I could grow academically and socially. I work three jobs on campus and am also the secretary of the Student Art League. I am majoring in Painting and Drawing and minoring in Psychology because I want to pursue a career in art therapy. I hope to help those dealing with mental illness, trauma, and grief to find peace in the art making process. I am taking this course because I find social interactions, relationships and perceptions of others to be fascinating. Psychology is such a diverse field that infiltrates every aspect of our lives. I think this course will give me great insight on how humans think and work within social settings.
