After receiving a B.S. in environmental studies and working in the field for a bit, I soon learned how much of an impact our environment truly has on our health. I spoke with a friend that had completed her MPH and she guided me through the great opportunities available with public health. Then started my journey to studying at ODU for my Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Global Environmental Health.
I choose the Global Environmental Health track because growing up, my family and I would go to Guatemala almost annually. Seeing the differences in how the environment is cared for, safety precautions, food and water policies, etc. inspired me to learn more about how these things affect people around the world. I am looking forward to breaking into the public health field and making a difference in the communities around me.
