About Me

Hello! My name is Kayla Saunders and I am a sophomore at ODU. As you can see, I love my dog! I rescued her from the Virginia Beach SPCA, and she is most certainly my best friend. I commute from my hometown, Virginia Beach. I decided to stay home and go to ODU because this school has one of the best nursing programs in the state, and I could not be happier with my decision. I am currently planning to enroll in ODU’s nursing program starting the fall of 2018, and eventually want to go back to school after working as a nurse to receive my midwifery license. I am taking this course for two reasons. One, I am taking specific classes to receive my Diversity Studies Certificate and this class is a step to getting that; two, I feel this class will help me tremendously in the medical field when I am exposed to various cultures who need my help and support. I look forward to learning a lot from this class and digging into the mindset of different cultures!
