Greetings,

My name is Kinah Tucker and I have had the honor of serving as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (UTA) for the Fall 2020 semester. The purpose of my portfolio is to highlight my teaching philosophy, show activities that were conducted around the philosophy, and the effectiveness of those activities for my students and in the course.

An Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (UTA) is an undergraduate student who recieves course credit and is assigned specific student learning outcomes to assist and support faculty in instruction.

I am currently a senior at Old Dominion University studying psychology with a double minor in Human Services and Women’s Studies. Upon graduation, I plan to attend graduate school in order to further my education and pursure a Master’s in Public Health. I plan to go into research as health psychologist in order to bridge the gap between psychological and physiological health, specifically with minority individuals. While doing research, I thought about the possibiliy teaching on the collegiate level. I found this UTA opportunity to be beneficial in exposing me to a possible career option for myself.
